Dropping to our Knees

Well personally, I used to think that when we are going through a trial or a rough situation it is a sign that we should defiinitly check the dregs of sin on our life and drop to our knees and pray through that situation, hurt, conflict, or lack of blessings. But in some cases God has bestowed blessing upon blessing in my life wether material or spiritual even with the dregs which compels me to drop to my knees and just praise him and desire a closer relationship with him even more.
